Other subjects to be covered include the"paperless" transfer of printed and photocopied images, tissue overlays, permanency of materials, preparation of substrates, sources of tools and materials, presentation and framing of finished works, and more. April 10th, 1999 WASHINGTON, CT - SEMINAR: ART & THE BUSINESS OF ART / Packaging, Presentation, & Self Promotion for Visual Artists / The Washington Art Association: A day-long seminar during which we will explore the relationship of the artist and society and discuss the practical aspects of "getting our work out-there." Other subjects covered include planning ahead, photographing art work, matting and framing, approaching galleries, exhibition announcements, press releases, pricing one's work, acquiring credentials, and more. Sponsored by the Washington Art Association and open to all interested persons. April 11th, 1999 MARLBORO, VT - WORKSHOP: COLLAGE TECHNIQUES & CREATIVE EXPLORATION / Marlboro College: A 1-day introduction to Collage without Liquid Adhesives, "paperless" image transfer, and other collage techniques. We will also examine our own individual sources of creativity and learn how to access them more readily. Composition and the creation of a personal style are also possible agenda items if we wish. May 17th, 1999 NEW YORK, NY - COLLAGE: MEDIUM & METAPHOR / AN INTERACTIVE LECTURE/DEMONSTRATION / The Manhattan Graphics Center 7 pm - 9 pm: This program will focus on my collage technique which eliminates liquid adhesives from the collage assembly process. "Paperless" image transfer and other techniques will also be demonstrated and the audience will be invited to join in an exploration of the implications of collage as a metaphor for both the mundane and the exceptional aspects of the human experience. JONATHAN TALBOT: A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY:

Jonathan Talbot was educated at Brandeis University, The New School, and The San Francisco Academy of Art. His work has been exhibited at The National Academy and the Museum of Modern Art in New York and has represented the U.S. overseas in exhibitions sponsored by the State Department and the Smithsonian Institution. Talbot's works include oils, watercolors, etchings, collages, and multi-dimensional collage-constructions. Among the public collections holding Talbot works are The Newark Museum, The Smith College Museum, The Everhart Museum, The Byer Museum, The Free Library of Philadelphia, The San Francisco Academy of Art, Fairleigh Dickinson University, The Provincetown Historical Society, and the Toronto Central Library. Talbot maintains his studio in Warwick, NY where he lives with his wife Marsha. They are the parents of two children: a daughter, Loren, and a son, Garret.
